Sonal Patel Joins SMS Environmental

SMS Environmental is delighted to announce that Sonal Patel will be joining them to open and manage their new Bristol office.

Sonal is a graduate of The University of Hertfordshire where she was awarded a degree in Microbiology. From University she joined the Public Health Laboratory Service (now the HPA) for 2 years where she worked on projects in the food, water and clinical microbiology laboratories; also encompassing work on Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).

In 2001 Sonal joined one of Europe’s leading analytical companies – ALcontrol Laboratories where her most recent role was that of Microbiology Operations Manager with responsibilities for both the Microbiology and Ecotoxicity Laboratories at Langley.

Sonal’s experience also extends to implementing and operating analytical processes crucial to obtaining and retaining UKAS accreditation.

Sonal's broad business and scientific knowledge brings a wealth of new experience to SMS, particularly in the technology and management of innovation and new service development, including areas such as the Rapid Legionella PCR test.

She is committed to building on SMS's reputation as one of the premier Legionella Control companies in England and Wales, by keeping it at the cutting edge of science and technology and supporting the needs of all its clients.

Sonal takes up her new position on 1st May 2008.
