SMS Environmental maintains and continuously improves our Integrated Policy
(Quality, Environment) and our management systems in accordance with ISO
9001:2000, ISO 14001:2004, Green Dragon and the Legionella Control Association.
The policy is based on the fundamental principles of measuring and planning for continual improvement and is the governing document for setting improvement targets. Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety objectives will be designed to improve upon customer satisfaction, environmental performance, technical innovation and safe working practices and will be implemented and reviewed.
This policy is available on our Company website for reference and will be reviewed on an annual basis by SMS Environmental’s senior management team.
We will continually review the suitability of our integrated management system, procedures, technological advances and working practices in conjunction with demands and expectations from our Customers, Employees and any person(s) working under the Company’s control, to ensure they are appropriate to the nature, scale and impacts of the Company’s activities, products, services and risks.
SMS Environmental is committed to:
- Meeting or exceeding Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety requirements as required by our Customers, Employees and parties working on behalf of SMS Environmental.
- Complying with all applicable Quality, Environmental and Health & Safety legislation and with any other requirements to which the Company subscribes, including those that relate to its environmental aspects and OH&S hazards
- Maintaining good business and profitable relationships with our clients, subcontractors, suppliers and other interested parties.
- Maintaining awareness of all employees and person(s) working under the control of SMS Environmental, so they can identify and fulfil contractual, legislative and company Quality, Environment and Health & Safety responsibilities.
- Continually considering the Company’s environmental impacts as an essential element when evaluating new projects, products, and operations. The Company also has a commitment to ensure appropriate control measures are applied to its most significant impacts.
- Reviewing the selection of chemicals, assessing the environmental and health & safety risks and hazards associated with these, the procurement, goods receipt, delivery, storage and transportation processes, use and regulations.
- The prevention of pollution.
- Communicating this policy and the results of our activities, to members of the Company, person(s) working under the Company’s control and any other interested parties as appropriate.
This Policy is supported by the Company’s Health & Safety Policy Statement, which
is also available on the Company’s website and the Company’s IMS (Quality,
Environmental and Health & Safety) Overview, detailing roles and responsibilities
